Adaptive Load Cell

Machines have always been able to measure force, but truly feeling force—adapting dynamically in real time—has been a challenge. In the world of fitness technology, achieving real-time force modulation is critical to ensuring users experience optimal resistance throughout their workout. To bridge this gap, we developed a custom tube-style load cell, designed specifically to measure force accurately while integrating seamlessly into an adaptive functional training system.
2-Hour Cold Brew Machine
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Enclosure Design
Featuring a novel extraction method, our cold brew machine cuts the traditional 16-hour immersion brewing process to just 2 hours, delivering premium, smooth, consistent coffee. With its retro-inspired design and robust functional simplicity, it’s both an industrial workhorse and a visually striking centerpiece – equally at home brewing high-quality coffee at commercial scale or simply looking cool in a café.

Bringing together high-performance engineering and thoughtful design, our Linear Motor achieves exceptional flux density and high force over long travels. To put it simply – it’s awesome. Refined through iterations of R&D and intuitive insights to tailor its novel magnetic circuit, it minimizes components for manufacturability while maintaining peak performance. The result isn’t a reinvention of the wheel but a new fundamental for designers and engineers to create the expressive machines of the future.

About Us
“I could do that better” will be the death of us here at New Fundamentals. From wallets to musical instruments, we have a bit of a problem of not letting bad design slide. If we can improve it, we will… which, I guess, explains the industrial cold brew maker we built for our office kitchen.
Either way, what started as an obsession with making better solutions to problems we faced in our lives, has grown into a full-fledged product design firm. With capabilities from 3-D modeling to hardware development to metal fabrication, we have come a long way from just a few power tools and some bold ideas.
Now we work with entrepreneurs, small business owners, and subject matter experts to craft unique products that push the boundaries of design.

Marc believes a great design is always there; it’s just hidden under noise and assumptions. Sometimes you just need to step back, identify the dissonances, and burn away the underbrush.
With experience and explorations spanning countless industries and technologies, Marc has developed a creative vocabulary consisting of the patterns and principles which tie ideas together. As an engineer and inventor, he speaks both the languages of precision and intuition, crafting designs that seek to bring together both worlds.

ANDREW ABRAHAM

Andrew sees good design as the result of exploration and distillation. Only through deep analysis of the product idea and through research of existing solutions can anyone reach the fundamental required to make truly innovative design.
He merges his diverse backgrounds from his life as a business consultant, photographer, and product designer to build a design language that is both expressive and emotionally resonant. At the end of the day it is about building products that not only look good, but speak to something ineffable within your customers.
